They guide our church.
Meet the pastors.

Tim Baltz

Senior/Lead Pastor since 1994.

Pastor Tim grew up in Rockford, Illinois. After graduating with a degree in Communication from the University of Illinois, he attended Northern Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity degree. Since then he has served as a pastor in LaMoille, Ill., Gillette, Wy., and Aurora, Ill. Tim and his wife Shelley, who have been married over thirty years, have been blessed with two children: Daniel and Moriah. Pastor Tim enjoys riding his bike, hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and working out at the gym. Pastor Tim is excited about what God is doing in the world and he wants to invite others to experience the abundant life that comes through accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. One of the things Pastor Tim loves about FBC is the family-feel which allows him to get to know the people personally. Pastor Tim would like to invite you to explore this community of Christ-followers sharing the hope of Jesus.

John Withum

Associate Pastor since 2007

Pastor John came to Aurora from Mineral Wells, W.Va. in 2007. He was born and raised there and graduated from Marshall University with a degree in Journalism in 2006. His time at FBC started during his first year at Northern Seminary, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2009. Pastor John has served the children, youth, young adults, and families of our church, and has led the music for worship since 2014. John lives in Aurora with his wife Katie and their dog Bacon. He enjoys playing and watching soccer (particularly Fulham Football Club), Field Notes memo books, camping, hiking, and exploring new places. Pastor John sees the Gospel as Good News for all of life, not just relegating it to "spirituality." He is interested in how centuries-old prayers and spiritual practices can help us live more fulfilling lives as followers of Jesus in the world.
